 | Introduction Kiss My Face lip balm is a highly toxic natural skin care product. This product's official name is Kiss Lip Balm, SPF 15.
Positives? There is not much positive about this product according to the ingredient label. The Kiss Balm does not meet any natural ingredient parameter. The ingredients that are C.I.R. certified have been tested on animals. Token Certified Organic Ingredients? It does contain a few token certified organic ingredients for marketing purposes. The reason I know this because ingredient listings are weighted heavily towards the first three ingredients. These ingredients are the most important because they make up 90% of any given product. The fact that the product as a whole is not certified organic means that there is a possibility the product contains G.M.O - genetically modified organisms - and pesticides. Negatives The Kiss My Face lip balm is a nicely packaged toxic stick with many of the ingredients never even tested for safety according to the C.I.R. - Cosmetic Ingredient Review. Contrary to the patently false claims made on its website the company does use animal tested ingredients. To keep their hands clean they most likely outsource these chemicals. Cancer Linkage Kiss Lip Balm, SPF 15 scores in most toxic parameters. It meets 7 of 12 toxic parameters, including the most serious ones. Kiss My Face lip balm contains HYDROGENATED LECITHIN and tocopherol which have been known to damage the skin and may increase the risk of skin cancer. Untested Chemicals Kiss Lip Balm, SPF 15 contains 8 chemicals that have not been assessed for safety in cosmetic formulas by the C.I.R. This is a flagrant violation of consumer trust. These chemicals are: Titanium dioxide, Titanium Dioxide, Royal Jelly, Certified Organic Aloe Vera, Certified Organic Canola Oil, Certified Organic Coconut Oil, Propolis, L-Lysine, 100% Natural Fruit Flavors. Tocopherol Kiss My Face lip balm also contains tocopherol, a chemical that is on the E.W.G's (Environmental Working group) hit list as a hazardous lip balm ingredient. Recommendation My advice is this, DO NOT believe the hype and false claims of the Kiss My Face brand. This product is just one example across their line of how they hoodwink their trusting customers into believing they are natural, or worse still organic. If you use Kiss Lip Balm, SPF 15 now I strongly urge you to dump it immediately. Don't fill the coffers of a corporation that masquerades as a folksy mom and pop business. This company KNOWINGLY uses toxic ingredients in their so called natural skin care product lines. They need to be held accountable for their complicity in peddling second rate hazardous products as natural.
Vote with your wallet and maybe Kiss My Face in time will learn not to put their customer's health at risk. If you use or continue to use this product you may suffer a myriad of health effects in the long term.
Alternatives There are legitimate alternatives to toxic products like these. You can make your own moisturizer products using natural ingredients. Or, if you are someone who likes the peace of mind that your natural skin care products are certified organic I would refer you to the top rating Miessence natural lip balm. The Miessence natural lip balm contains no synthetic chemicals. This is the lip balm I personally use. Voice Your Opinion!
