Introduction
Jhirmack Shampoo is a mildly toxic hair care product. This product's official name is Jhirmack Moisturizing Shampoo .
Positives?
There is little positive about this product according to the ingredient label. The Jhirmack Moisturizing Shampoo does not meet any natural ingredient parameter.
In fact, if you were to inject these chemicals individually into someone else's bloodstream you would be thrown in prison. I do not say this lightly, as there are penetration agents, LECITHIN and SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE in this product that enables it to pass into your bloodstream unhindered.
Tested on Animals?
It is not certified organic and it contains synthetic chemicals that have been tested on animals. Jhirmack outsource's animal testers so as not to get their hands dirty. The fact that it is not certified organic - obviously - means that there is a possibility the product contains G.M.O - genetically modified organisms - and pesticides.
Negatives
The Jhirmack Shampoo uses many ingredients that have never been tested for safety according to the C.I.R. - Cosmetic Ingredient Review. The chemicals that are certified by the C.I.R have been tested on animals.
Cancer Linkage
This product contains these highly toxic ingredients, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE which has been linked to cancer in animal tests.
Penetration Enhancers
Also present are penetration enhancers: LECITHIN, SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE. These agents work to infiltrate the skin membrane - i.e. penetration enhancer - and in doing so may increase exposures to carcinogens.
Untested Chemicals
Jhirmack Moisturizing Shampoo contains chemicals that have not been assessed for safety in cosmetic formulas by the C.I.R.
These chemicals are: TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, Cocoamphodiacetate, Glycol Stearate; Glycol Distearate.
Fragrance
Of concern is the vaguely termed, FRAGRANCE. This is an unspecified mixture of potentially hundreds of chemicals commonly used throughout the industry. Some problems caused by these chemicals are headaches, dizziness, rash, violent coughing, vomiting and skin irritation.
Parabens
Aussie Mega Shampoo also contains PARABENS: methylparaben and propylparaben, chemicals that have been recently linked to breast cancer in women. This study was reported by the BBC Sunday 11 January 2004. Methylparaben also doubles as a Xenoestrogen, mimicking the sex hormone estrogen.
Recommendation
My advice is this. Don't fall for these fake "natural looking" products.
Stay away from Jhirmack Moisturizing Shampoo. If you use it now I strongly urge you to throw it in the trash.
Don't fill the coffers of a company that KNOWINGLY uses toxic ingredients in their so called skin care products. Vote with your wallet and maybe Jhirmack in time will learn not to put their customer's health at risk.
Certified Organic Alternative Shampoo
If you are someone who likes the peace of mind that your natural skin care products are certified organic I would refer you to the top rating herbal shampoo.
