Can the concept of 'Universal responsbility' help the skincare world?
Blog post posted by Natural Skincare Authority on January 28, 2010 at 10:30pm
Today I have been considering the intense dissection of the Proctor and Gamble Pantene Pro-V shampoo that we have been conducting recently, and I got to wondering why, on a higher level, toxic hazards are brought to human, animal and ecological life at all?
When we truly love and respect something we own, we take good care of it. We nourish it, provide it with goodness and rightly expect to be supported (or at least not deliberately challenged) in this endeavour.
It is bewildering to me then, why hazardous chemical exposure, at any level, is allowed to take place. If we are taking care of ourselves and our community - and the whole world is a massive community, do we not want the most optimum opportunity for everyone to flourish and be well?
The Dalai Lama has spoken many a simple and beautiful word, and this rang true for me today:
"Today, more than ever before, life must be characterized by a sense of Universal responsibility, not only nation to nation and human to human, but also human to other forms of life."
Taking care of ourselves, all other living things and Mother Earth. Are skincare products made with this basic foundation of sustainable life in mind?
More on the Pantene Pro-V shampoo tomorrow...
